Charles Cox (Chuck) is the middle child of a family of 3, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and is Susan’s father. He is a pilot, retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, who has experience in accident investigations, violation investigations, interviewing witnesses, writing enforcement reports, documenting evidence, assisting agency attorneys, and giving testimony in a court of law. These experiences and skills along with the experience gained from Susan’s disappearance, gives him the empathy and skills needed to assist other families.
When Susan disappeared, Chuck willingly became a spokesperson for the family and provided a face to the media in order to get Susan’s story out into the news. This was inspired by the example of Ed Smart, the father of Elizabeth Smart, whom was abducted from her home and eventually returned to her family; long after most people feared the worst. As Ed Smart’s faith, willingness, and determination along with Elizabeth’s faith and help from New Media led to Elizabeth’s return, Charles is confident that Angels are watching over Susan.
This faith and determination sustained Chuck through the trial of Joshua Powell. Now he wants to channel that energy by helping others, as he knows Susan would want him to do. No matter the outcome, Chuck is determined to ensure that Susan’s current experience and suffering will not be in vain and that he can help others who found themselves in similar circumstances.
Judy is the middle child of a family of 3 and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She has been married to Chuck Cox for 36 years and the mother of 4 daughters including Susan and grandmother to 4 boys and 5 girls. Unfortunately, both Judy’s parents are deceased.
While Judy’s life has been challenged with the disease of Type II diabetes, and many other trials, she is loving and caring like Susan and is always willing to help others.
We are confident that those responsible for Susan’s disappearance will account for their actions before the unfailing and just court of our Heavenly Father and that law enforcement is doing all that can be done to find Susan and bring those responsible to justice.
